Xana Hermosillo, (pronounced: SHAH-nah air-moh-SEE-oh) has 20 years of experience using her passion for STEM education to conduct outreach in various communities. Most notably, for five years she led a summer high school marine science research program on Catalina Island through USC Sea Grant. Prior to joining the CTLO team, she was the Science and Outdoor Education Specialist at Walden School in Pasadena. Xana volunteers in many Los Angeles area organizations to advocate for access to science and the outdoors for under-resourced students and communities. Xana earned her Bachelor of Science in Marine Science at The Evergreen State College and her Master of Science in Marine Science at the University of Texas at Austin Marine Science Institute.
